Marc Zapata is a senior environmental engineer with Asia – Pacific ASA. Mr Zapata has been part of the Asia – Pacific ASA team for the past 10 years where he has gained valuable experience in the application of ocean forecasting model including oil spill, hydrodynamic, sediment discharge and water quality models in both marine and freshwater environments.
Mr Zapata’s recent work has included environmental assessments and associated field and modelling work to quantify risks or impacts associated with various spills and discharges (oil, gas and chemical) for the oil & gas industry and other coastal and offshore industries. Mr Zapata has wide experience with numerical modelling of all potential discharges and has developed strong credibility with regulatory authorities and has undertaken key strategic studies for government authorities in the past. Mr Zapata also has recent experience with the requirements of numerous dredging investigations and has presented APASA modelling work and findings to the regulators on numerous occasions.
