Nathan Benfer received his Bachelor of Coastal Engineering degree from Griffith University on the Gold Coast, Australia, in 2003. As part of his final year project Nathan carried out a search and rescue modelling exercise for the open waters off the Gold Coast. Nathan is currently enrolled in a Doctor of Philosophy program studying ’The Design Rational for Gated Canal Estates’ by observing and simulating the mixing characteristics of canal estates connected to tidal estuaries via boat-locks.
